Has anyone tiled over existing tiles instead of removing them? I was thinking that doing this would be able to save time while cutting down on extra labour costs. Although I haven’t heard anything terrible from people doing this, I would like to hear from other people before I make a decision

Tiling over your old tiles should be fine. As you’ve mentioned, it will save you time and money.

The only thing you need to be wary of is the new floor height you’ll have at the end of the job. This can potentially cause problems with doors or cupboards as well as making a distinct height difference when entering your bathroom which could be a tripping hazard.

Also make sure to use the correct tile adhesive depending on the finish of your old tiles.

If you’re going to do this, just make sure you do everything correctly otherwise it will be more time and money than just removing the tiles.
